IV Therapy and Spooky Season: Halloween Preparation

Though many stores have been shelved with their spooky season goodies since August, for many of us, Halloween has somehow managed to sneak up on us! With just over two weeks to go until the big night, it’s time to get your holiday preparation in order.

Below,  find a few tips to get your scare on without any monster problems!

Pick out a costume

There are typically two kinds of people when it comes to dressing up: those who’ve had their costume picked out since last October, and those who won’t know what they’re going to be until the very last minute. No matter which camp you’re in, it’s best to start exploring your options now – whether you’re searching for the perfect finishing touch, or still in the brainstorming phase. Costume shops have opened up, and thrift stores often provide a unique, affordable and sustainable way to get into character. Check out Pinterest and TikTok for inspiration and cool tips or tricks!

Stock up on supplies

It seems empty shelves and shortages are way too common of an occurrence these days – and unfortunately, candy is no exception. Start building your trick-or-treating stash before all the stores sell out. Bulk shopping at places like Costco can also help you get more while spending less (plus, with the bigger bags, you still have plenty left when you inevitably break into it a week beforehand to “sample” a few pieces).

Take care of safety and logistics

Though we all love a good fright this time of year, we also hope to avoid any truly terrifying predicaments. Consider adding reflectors or glow sticks to costumes for any trick or treaters out after dark for better road safety. And, if you plan on drinking, make sure to identify a reliable designated driver ahead of time!

Make a plan for recovery

As a former teacher, I know better than most that the day after Halloween is way scarier than Halloween itself. Whether you’re suffering from a late-night sugar hangover like many of my students usually are, or if some other potions and brews are playing a part in your morning-after headache, it’s best to have a plan for getting yourself back in tip-top shape. Consider scheduling an IV appointment for the day after to rehydrate after a long night of trick-or-treating or partying.

An immunity booster after lots of mingling could put you ahead of the game during cold and flu season, or a hangover or recovery drip could be just the thing to balance you out after your weekend indulgences.
