Mobile IV Therapy For Dehydration
Dehydration occurs when your body is losing more fluid than you are taking in. The body eliminates water through two main functions: sweating and urine production. To rehydrate, you have to drink water and other beverages. The problem is, this route is an inefficient way to achieve optimal hydration. A better solution is IV fluids. IV dehydration treatment can have you feeling revitalized in about an hour or less. Read on to learn more about our IV drips for dehydration.
It is astounding how many of our ASAP IVs clients didn’t know about our service before their treatment. They didn’t know that suffering in silence from food poisoning wasn’t the only treatment solution. Through our mobile IV therapy, we come to you to help you recover from food poisoning in the comfort of your own home, frequently in 30 minutes or less!
What is the recommended IV for dehydration?
At ASAP IVs, we recommend our Refuel IV for dehydration recovery. Our IV works excellent for recovery from mild dehydration (just returned home from a quick summer hike) or even from significant dehydration (intense physical activity, prolonged nausea and decreased oral intake).
This IV features a liter of IV fluid, along with our ASAP B- Vitamin Blend (Both B-12 and B-Complex). B-Complex contains B-Vitamins 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6. The fluids and ASAP B-Blend work together to restore your body to optimal hydration status while also providing an energy boost
We offer our Refuel IV for $150. The cost of this IV package is all inclusive, and there are no standard travel fees to any of our mobile IV therapy cities in Arizona and California!
Price savings may be available at our local clinic, depending on location.
We offer this IV throughout all of our treatment areas, including Phoenix, Scottsdale, San Diego, Encinitas, and the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
Which Symptoms of Dehydration Can Be Treated With an IV Drip?
Dehydration, or the body state of having low circulating amounts of fluid, is very common. It can occur in healthy individuals or as a consequence of severe acute medical illness. Not only can the state of dehydration be uncomfortable, but the lack of fluid in the body can lead to inadequate preload for the heart, decreased cardiac output, and poor perfusion of tissues. The following are possible results of dehydration from cold, flu and other sources and how IV fluids for dehydration can help:
Dry mouth and skin: as the body becomes increasingly dehydrated, the blood vessels to the skin and mucous membranes become tightened to conserve body water, leading to skin, lips, and mouth feeling dry. Fluid from an IV can improve these symptoms in 20-30 minutes and can result in dramatic improvement.
Dark urine: Poor perfusion of the kidneys or low circulating intravascular fluid can send a signal to the kidneys that they should conserve as much fluid as possible. The more dehydrated you are, the less urine output your kidneys will produced, and the more concentrated your urine will become. As the urine becomes more concentrated, its color becomes increasingly dark (or even non-existent if you are severely dehydrated). The fluid from an IV will help increase perfusion and fluids to the kidneys, increase urine output, and improve the coloring of urine.
Fainting/light headed: When the heart does not have enough fluid (decreased preload) the amount of blood which can be ejected per unit time is decreased (cardiac output). When dehydration is significant, changes in posture can lead to further decreases in preload and temporary reduction in cardiac output (this is called orthostatic hypotension). When this is severe, the drastic decrease in cardiac output can lead to low blood pressure and low perfusion of the brain, causing a feeling of light headedness, dizziness, or fainting/passing out (in medical speak this is called syncope). If you feel lightheaded when you change body positions (like going from laying down to sitting to standing) and you feel your heart rate increase, you will benefit from an IV and improved hydration.
Fatigue: Chronic dehydration can lead to persistently lowered cardiac output, leading to decreased tissue perfusion, and feelings of tiredness, fatigue, decreased energy, or listlessness.
