Glutathione IV: The Holy Grail of Antioxidants

I’m obsessed with anti-aging and optimizing my health. The closer I get to 40 the more enthusiastic I become with finding different ways to turn back the clock—or at least slow it down a little. Whether it’s botox, cryogenic therapies or just increasing my daily water intake, I’m open to trying just about anything to stay health and vibrant. So when Dr. Graber informed me we would now be offering glutathione infusions to our clients, I couldn’t wait to give it a try.

Why am I so excited? Glutathione is an incredibly powerful antioxidant. It is essential to eliminating toxins from the body, promoting longterm health and wellness and staving off disease. It does this by decreasing inflammation, protecting DNA from damage, and helps the body break down free radicals.

Has it been a while since 9th grade biology? Don’t remember what a free radical is? Well here is a little refresher. Free radicals are created in the body as a normal byproduct of metabolism. When there are more free radicals being created than the body can break down, this begins a process called oxidative stress. Oxidative stress causes wrinkles and other signs of aging, as well as diseases like heart disease and cancer. Optimal levels of glutathione benefits the body by helping to breaking down these free radicals, slowing the signs of aging and allowing you to remain healthy and youthful.

Under perfect conditions, glutathione is made in our cells. However, as we age our levels decrease drastically. By the time we reach 60, we’re working with almost half the glutathione we had in or 20’s. Stress, poor sleep and continued exposure to environmental toxins can lead to a worsening deficiency. This is where glutathione IV infusions come in!

“Can’t I just eat more kale? Or take a supplement?,” you ask? Good question. Yes, you can take supplements. However, glutathione is often poorly absorbed by the stomach. Supplements can be unreliable. So sure, absolutely eat more kale. But if you’re serious about elevating your glutathione levels, an IV infusion is the way to go.

We look forward to helping you on your quest for optimal health and prolonged youthfulness!
